Special Library Collection: Black Canadian Studies

The CIBC Special Collection in Black Canadian Studies at Dalhousie's Killam Library is intended to help students and scholars study the contribution of black Canadians to the history of Canada. In the past seven years, over 858 new titles have been added, covering history, social issues, politics, law, health, current issues and culture. In addition, a new database called The African American Experience has been added to the collection.

The growing collection strengthens and enhances a number of programs and activities at Dalhousie University that support Black Studies, including the James Robinson
Johnston Chair in Black Canadian Studies. In addition, it provides local and national community members with a valuable research resource.
