Each year, FASS honours an outstanding professor who has demonstrated excellence in service and the importance of collegial governance to the operation of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences with the Service Excellence Award. The recipient for 2022 is Dr. Chris Austin, professor of Religious Studies.
The annual FASS Award for Excellence in Teaching honours a faculty member who has made an outstanding contribution to teaching, mentoring, and serving the students of the Faculty. The award is intended, above all, to underline the fundamental importance of effective and/or innovative pedagogy. The recipient for 2022 is Dr. Liesl Gambold, professor in the department of Sociology and Social Anthropology.
