Jonathan Wang, Athletics, was the recipient of the 2024 Staff Award for Excellence in Service presented at the Faculty Awards ceremony in early May.  

The award recognizes and celebrates Jonathan’s wide ranging and impactful contributions to the Faculty of Agriculture, including going above and beyond in his role as Coordinator, Operations, Marketing and Facilities at the Langille Athletic Centre.  He consistently provides students, instructors, and staff with a positive experience, even under challenging circumstances.

Jonathan’s willingness to help on short notice, and to put patrons first, is commendable. He works tirelessly to support campus athletics and other events held at the Langille Athletic Centre and is committed to fostering a positive experience for the campus community.

‘Whether it is managing technology requirements, supervising athletic events, overseeing and training facility and event staff, ensuring all facility equipment is up to the correct standards, developing promotional materials, or managing registration for special events, Jonathan excels in all areas,” said Athletic Director Andrew Harding. “He always looks for ways to improve our operations while ensuring everyone around him has the tools they need to support facility requirements and events.”

Jonathan’s dedication, leadership, and excellent customer service have made a significant impact on students’ success and this recognition is well-deserved
