Dear faculty and staff,
A reminder that Convocation takes place this Friday, June 5th. There are a number of ways to join in the celebration of the Class of 2026:
Academic procession
The academic procession will leave the Student Learning Commons at 11:50 am, following College Road to the Langille Athletic Centre.
· If you aren’t walking in the procession, please consider being available to cheer on our graduands along this route.
· If you ARE planning to walk in the procession and sit on the stage, please ensure you have confirmed with Selina Rudolph. Current fire marshal regulations require us to take great care with on-stage seating, so keeping track of numbers is vital.
· A reminder to also bring your Barley pin to affix to your academic dress, if you have one. Extras will be available in the SLC if you do not yet have one.
Convocation ceremony
The Convocation ceremony will begin at 12:00 pm. Faculty and staff are welcome to attend, but please note seats on the gym floor are reserved for members of the procession and those with tickets. The upper bleachers in the Athletic Centre are available for overflow guests, but this is also based on fire capacity. Capacity will be monitored as attendees make their way in to the Athletic Centre.
As an additional FYI, flowers may be purchased in the lower foyer of the Langille Athletic Centre.
Cookies and lemonade
All faculty and staff are invited to join graduates and supporters for cookies and lemonade in the Alumni Gardens immediately following the ceremony. RSVPs are not required.
