The Dalhousie Sandboxes (“Dalboxes”) are recruiting for the Dalbox Access program! Dalbox Access is a full-year experiential learning opportunity for students looking for professional advancement opportunities. As a Dalbox Access participant, you will work in interdisciplinary teams to develop creative solutions to accessibility challenges. These solutions will be used to compete in the national Innovative Designs for Accessibility (IDeA) competition. There will be financial rewards for the competition winners.
The Details:
Dalbox Access will kick off on October 1-2, 2021 (Friday evening and Saturday until 2pm), and will then run every two weeks (on Wednesdays) from October 2021 - March 2022 (no programing during exam time, reading week, or when the university is closed)
The program will be a mix of in-person and online meetings throughout the academic year
In-person programming will be in Halifax; transportation and hotel will be provided to and from Halifax to students at the Truro campus
Participants can get up to 43 volunteer hours
Participants who successfully complete the program will get a letter of reference (available upon request)
Participants have a chance to win monetary prizes
