Prior to each semester, course spaces are created empty and inactive for each course in the academic calendar for the upcoming semester. To prevent students from seeing unused courses, each course is set to “inactive” by default. To allow students to see a course in Brightspace, Instructors must make their course active (available to students). Once activated, Fall 2016 courses are set to open September 6, 2016 at 8:00 am AST, and close January 31, 2017 at 12:00 pm AST. Instructors can adjust the start date to suit their needs.
