Net Zero ECT Research Program

Posted by Jaq-Lin Larder on June 26, 2023 in Research Funding

The first call for proposals for the Net Zero Emerging Concepts and Technologies (ECT) Research Program officially opened on Wednesday, June 21.

More information, including the Applicant Guide, proposal and budget submission templates, links to recordings of two recent ECT Research Program Q&A webinars, and the latest version of the Frequently Asked Questions document, is available on the Net Zero ECT Research Program website: www.netzeroatlantic.ca/ect

The Net Zero ECT Research Program is coordinated by Net Zero Atlantic and is supported by $3 million in funding provided by the Nova Scotia Department of Environment and Climate Change. This funding advances actions 13 and 63 of Nova Scotia’s Climate Change Plan for Clean Growth, specifically research on natural carbon sinks – such as soil and forests, which absorb carbon dioxide – and research on new clean technologies and practices to help meet Nova Scotia’s net zero by 2050 target. Future ECT Research Program calls are planned for September 2023 and June 2024.
