IMPORTANT UPDATE TO CREATE PROGRAM 2017
On March 15th, 2017, NSERC communicated with the Canadian research community that due to concerns expressed by stakeholders about the recently proposed changes to the CREATE program, it was decided that these changes will not apply to the upcoming CREATE competition.
NSERC has confirmed that any future changes to CREATE program will only occur after consultation with key stakeholders, including the Vice Presidents of Research.
NSERC has also confirmed that the new CREATE LOI quota for Dalhousie University is 6 and the updated CREATE literature as well as the F-187 is now available on the NSERC Website. Finally, applications in collaboration with the German Research Foundation, the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) are not subject to the University quota.
About the Program:
NSERC’s Collaborative Research and Training Experience (CREATE) program awards grants of up to $1.65M over 6 years for the development of innovative training programs that enhance collaboration and facilitate the transition of trainees to productive employees in the Canadian workforce.
Dalhousie is limited to an allocation of 6 LOIs that can go forward to the National Competition. Therefore an internal review of all applications is normally conducted to determine which LOIs will be submitted.
Below are the internal deadlines that have been put in place for this process. For more details please write to david.spurrell@dal.ca.
Important Dates:
March 28, 2017 Submit LOI for internal review to david.spurrell@dal.ca
April 4, 2017 Receive committee comments
April 18, 2017 Submit LOI & VPR Letter of Support to david.spurrell@dal.ca
May 1, 2017 NSERC deadline
