Open Calls: Shastri Indo‑Canadian Institute

The Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute currently has open competitions for its grants and awards.  Dalhousie faculty may be particularly interested in the following opportunities:

•    Shastri Research Grant:  Funding to support collaborative research initiatives between Indian and Canadian member institutions, entailing mobility as well as capacity building of scholars/researchers between India-Canada.  Grants are in the amount of $6,000; work is expected to take place between November 2016 and August 2017. •    Shastri Scholar Travel Subsidy Grant: Assists scholars to participate in conferences and academic meetings through travel subsidies; Canadians may travel to India, and vice versa.  Grants of $1,000 towards airfare are available; travel should take place between November 2016 and August 2017. •    Faculty Training and Internationalization program: for members/academics of all disciplines from SICI’s Canadian and Indian Member Institutions. This program aims at capacity building of the faculty members as well as internationalization of curriculum/teaching methodologies in the participating institutions. Awards are for a duration of 4-6 weeks and are valued at $5,000.  More here.
