Growth and Economic Opportunities for Women (GrOW) Call for Proposals

Posted by Alana Milner on January 26, 2015 in Research Funding

The UK's Department for International Development, the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, and Canada's International Development Research Centre (IDRC) announce the launch of this jointly-funded research initiative, which aims to generate evidence on women’s economic empowerment, gender equality and growth in low-income countries. With a focus on sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, the program seeks to support evidence-based research that will promote better policies and outcomes for women and for societies as a whole.

Research must be carried out on or in eligible countries in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, and include the participation of local researchers.

Through this call a single consortium is expected to undertake six to eight (6-8) projects within a total budget of up to $2 million. There is scope for funding one to two (1-2) individual research projects of under $300,000 if the proposed research is on a priority area.

More information and application forms can be found here.

Any Dal faculty member interested in this opportunity is asked to contact Jennifer Morawiecki in IR&D for more information and support in preparing an application.
