An aging workforce is expected to create particular new challenges for employers – as employees stay in the work force longer (for personal, professional, and economic reasons), employers are more likely to have a higher proportion of employees facing health challenges, the onset of disability and/or caregiving responsibilities. In recognition of this demographic trend and its associated challenges, the CIHR Institute of Aging has selected the theme "More Years, Better Lives: The Health, Wellness and Participation of Older Adults in the World of Work" for its Summer Program in Aging 2015 Training Program. Many of the research areas identified would benefit from the contributions of social sciences and humanities research trainees. As such SSH graduate students and postdoctoral fellows are invited and strongly encouraged to apply.
