Dalhousie faculty may be interested to learn about the activities of Academics Without Borders Canada, a Canadian NGO. AWBC actively works through its volunteer network to promote international development, by assisting developing countries around the world in improving and expanding higher education. AWBC volunteers work on projects that foster the skills and expertise needed for health care, education, agriculture, infrastructure, business, and more.
AWBC works in all disciplines and areas of instruction, with projects in universities, colleges, and business, engineering, medical and nursing schools. Its volunteers are working and retired professionals and academics, including faculty, staff, and administrators from Canada and other medium- and high-income countries.
