Borrow Recording Equipment for Use in Labs & Beyond

Recording teaching demonstrations in laboratories and other spaces (such as outdoors) requires different equipment than what is needed in a traditional classroom.

A selection of camcorders, wireless mics, GoPro cameras, video and phone tripods, and the associated peripherals will be available for faculty to borrow from the Dalhousie Libraries. This equipment is not limited to those teaching in labs.

To access this equipment (starting Monday, September 21):

  1. Bookings must be made 48 hours before you want to pick up the equipment

  2. To book a pick-up time, use the booking calendar. Select “Faculty Lab Recording Equipment Loan Service” from the drop-down menu in the middle of the page near the top.

  3. Once you’ve requested a pick-up time, Classroom Technologies staff from Academic Technology Services (ATS) will contact you to discuss your specific equipment needs, how long you need the equipment (up to a maximum of five days), and if you require any training on the equipment.

  4. Pick-up times are at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., Monday–Friday. Please come to the Killam Library with your DalCard at your booking time. The equipment will be signed out to you. If training arrangements were made, training will happen in the Killam at the time of pick-up. Please allow 1–2 hours for training.

Questions about the service should be sent to support@dal.ca.
