Posted by Faculty of Management on October 23, 2012 in News

The Atlantic Division of the Canadian Association of Geographers held its 24th Annual Research Conference at Saint Mary’s University from October 19-21. Two SRES students were recipients of first-place awards (and cash prizes!) at the conference.

Best Graduate Paper Presentation: Brittany White, Master of Environmental Studies program for her paper: Environmentalism Online: Examining the presence and purpose of a Northern Gateway Pipeline Twitter community.

Best Poster Presentation: Katie Paroschy, Master of Resource and Environmental Management program for her poster: Success of agri-environmental programs at preserving natural biodiversity on Nova Scotia farms.

SRES was well-represented at this geographical research conference. Six graduate students delivered outstanding paper presentations and an additional six gave poster presentations. Congratulations to all participating students and to our award-winners!
