"To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow." – Audrey Hepburn.

I hope this newsletter finds you all well. Spring is such a wonderful time of the year. Days are getting longer; the warmth of the sun brings new life to the world around us, and many begin to sow the seeds of success for the upcoming year. It is fitting that May is National Physiotherapy Month in Canada. We all work together, move forward, bring quality to many and instill the joy that mobility can bring at this time of the year.

In this newsletter, we focus on bringing worlds together, connecting to support the growth of Physiotherapy in Atlantic Canada. Our vision is to lead regionally, nationally and internationally in collaborative, inclusive physiotherapy education, research, and service that advances health, policy, and practice. The School is committed to developing the future of Physiotherapy in Atlantic Canada. A future where we see a diverse workforce to meet the demands of our changing population demographics and needs in Health Care. A future where we can support our students, the future of this profession, to experience the very best of Atlantic Canada through practice education. Together, we strive for Equity in Health, planting the seeds for a belief in tomorrow where physiotherapy remains vibrant, relevant and a leading profession in managing the healthcare needs of Canadians.

Alumni are vital to the vision of the School and the future of Physiotherapy. Many alumni support our students through practice education experiences and research, while others donate to the School through our giving page. Thank you for all that you do! Donations have helped us create four entrance scholarships for Black and Indigenous students from Atlantic Canada and support students in financial need as they complete their practice education across Atlantic Canada and beyond. Your support is shaping the future of our profession. We believe in tomorrow, and that belief starts with the education of our School of Physiotherapy students today. Please take some time to read through the newsletter. We hope that the School continues to make you proud and if you have any ideas or thoughts on ways that we can provide more support for our students and ultimately our profession, please connect

Best Wishes,

Derek Rutherford
