DalAC International Office welcomes Suzanne Johnson

It is a pleasure to welcome and introduce Suzanne Johnson as the new Manager, International Projects at the Faculty of Agriculture, Dalhousie University. As part of her responsibilities, Suzanne will also be the part‐time Project Director of the new ATTSVE project in Ethiopia.

Suzanne comes to us from Chalice Canada one of the top rated International Development Organization in Canada five years running. In her former position as their International Manager, Suzanne managed a Regional Office and 21 project sites across 50 communities in seven countries. She has a personal passion for the development of food sovereignty and has intimate experience in working to increase access to education and to improve the quality of agricultural education as part of National strategic plans to develop food security in Africa.

Suzanne also brings a wealth of experience as an International Operations Manager, Engineer and Project Manager having previously worked with the United Nations, the International Red Cross, as well as the private sector and non‐government and charitable organisations. Suzanne is also a retired Captain from the Air Force, having served 10 years of distinguished service.

Having extensive experience coordinating and facilitating project development with public offices, government departments, DFATD, and international financial institutes (i.e., World Bank, AfDB, ADB, CDB), Suzanne looks forward to furthering the growth and expansion of services of the International Office within the Faculty of Agriculture.
