The Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) is committed to providing the Canadian research community with current, relevant information and best practices to mitigate security risks to safeguard research. Today, the CFI published its new guidance on research security to support this commitment.
This new online material provides up-to-date guidance for institutions on the CFI’s implementation of research security measures related to the Government of Canada’s:
- Policy on Sensitive Technology Research and Affiliations of Concern, and
- National Security Guidelines for Research Partnerships.
Researchers and research administrators can now access the CFI’s procedures, resources (including its attestation form) and frequently asked questions about its research security requirements.
To learn more about the implementation of research security measures by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, please consult the Tri-Agency Guidance on Research Security.
