Recently, Veterans Affairs Canada, Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC), the Canadian Forces Health Services and the Canadian Institute for Military and Veteran Health Research (CIMVHR) partnered to create the Joint Federal Research Funding Program for Military Personnel and Veterans. This research funding program aims to enhance the well-being of Canadian Armed Forces members, Veterans, and their families by supporting Canadian research focused on supporting these populations.
They are currently looking for researchers for a funding opportunity on the Biophysical assessment of Canadian Armed Forces clothing with a sweating thermal manikin.
Researchers are invited to apply for a new grant funding opportunity sponsored by DRDC to assess thermal insulation, evaporative resistance, and moisture management properties of in-service and prototype Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) clothing. This information will be used to inform future clothing acquisitions and in the development of heat/cold exposure policies, with the goal of optimizing the performance, health, and safety of CAF members. The due date for applications is January 8, 2024 at 11:59 PM (PST).
