Genome Canada

Posted by Jaq-Lin Larder on June 13, 2022 in Research Funding

Genome Canada has announced its Climate Smart Agriculture and Food Systems initiative in May 2022.

This first-of-its-kind initiative will leverage the collective strengths of the Canadian Genomics Enterprise and the broader Canadian genomics ecosystem, to advance climate change mitigation and adaptation through strategic investments in climate-smart agriculture and food systems. Please refer to the two-page overview document [PDF 842 kB] which helps to explain the broader initiative and potential areas of focus.

Genome Canada has evolved to investing in a challenge-driven portfolio of interdisciplinary research and innovation projects and connecting their efforts with cross-cutting programs for knowledge mobilization, data coordination, and implementation.

To have the best possible chance of success in this highly competitive opportunity, Atlantic Canadian researchers are encouraged to engage with Genome Atlantic as soon as possible (mid-June) to obtain details on competition timelines, proposal support, and registration forms.

Registrations (a short two-page form), are due to Genome Atlantic by July 5, 2022.
