SSHRC recently approved the change of the Insight Grants submission deadline to October 1. Information on this change was shared with the SSHRC Leaders at a meeting on April 29, 2020. In October 2019 the SSHRC on-line application tool experienced a system failure that temporarily prevented the processing of applications for the Insight Grants competition. In response to these system issues and to reduce the risk of them happening again, SSHRC has decided that the Insight Grant submission deadline will be changed from October 15 to October 1. 

Secondly, as recently announced, SSHRC launched a COVID-19 initiative under its Partnership Engagement Grants funding opportunity to support the social sciences and humanities research community during this time of unprecedented disruption and distress. As part of this effort and in response to feedback received from SSHRC’s Leaders and other members of the research community, SSHRC is pleased to inform you that adjustments were introduced to the eligibility criteria and the period of tenure of the PEG COVID-19. Therefore, SSHRC invites you to consult the revised description of the initiative.
