Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada

The MS Society, through its various funding opportunities, is committed to supporting research that will lead to major advances in our understanding of multiple sclerosis (MS).

Opportunities

1. Discovery Research Grants (Operating Grants) for Biomedical and Clinical and Population Health Streams

The Discovery Research (previously called Operating Grant) Grant Program is intended to support various research projects aligned with the MS Society of Canada’s new strategic plan within two streams: Biomedical and Clinical and Population Health. The amount that may be requested for Discovery Research (operating) grants is approximately $ 100,000 per year for a maximum of three (3) years.

2. Discovery Research Pilot Grants (Clinical and Population Health Stream only)

The discovery research pilot grant program awards seed funding that allows researchers to develop and test new and innovative research questions and pursue pioneering approaches that have the potential to impact the MS field in topics related to Clinical and Population Health (CPH). The amount that may be requested for the discovery research pilot research grants is approximately $ 50,000 over up to two (2) years.

3. endMS Personnel Awards

The MS Society supports the next generation of talented young researchers who will take on the mantle of advancing MS research in the search for a cure. This award provides opportunities for research training and broadening the scientific understanding of MS for Master’s and Doctoral students and Postdoctoral fellows.

Funding for an additional year: For those who hold an endMS Studentship Award or Postdoctoral Fellowship and are seeking funding for an additional year, the deadline to submit a progress report is November 5, 2019 at 16:00 EDT.

endMS Conference

The endMS Conference will be held from December 8-11, 2019 in Calgary, Alberta. Individuals interested in attending the conference, can register using the link provided here.
