Important update about the Research Tools and Instruments (RTI) program
(originally posted on May 15, 2017)
Further to a consultation with the research community about the Research Tools and Instruments (RTI) program, NSERC is returning to the processes that were in place before the establishment of university quotas (2014 to 2017). The university quotas will be removed and the 2018 RTI competition will be open to all eligible Canadian university researchers. Researchers will be able to participate on one application per competition, either as an applicant or a co applicant, but not both.
The RTI program description and instructions will be updated accordingly and will be available at the beginning of August. The application for the RTI Program will be available in the Research Portal at the same time. The deadline date for submitting an RTI application is October 25, 2017 at 8 p.m. (ET), however the University internal deadline will be set before this date. Details to follow.
Please see the NSERC website here for more details.
Since there is no quota system this year, there will be no internal competition. DRS will advise the research community of RTI review dates in advance of the October 25 deadline in the near future.
