NRC's Game‑Changing Technologies Initiative: Cities of the Future

Posted by Suman Jha on January 19, 2016 in Announcements

From the Associate Vice-President, Future Challenges, SSHRC

We would like to share with you an opportunity for the social sciences and humanities research community to contribute its expert knowledge on “Cities of the Future,” an area that the National Research Council has identified through its Game-Changing Technologies Initiative, launched in 2014.  Since early on in the development of this initiative, SSHRC and NRC have been exchanging ideas on how NRC could engage the social sciences and humanities research community with respect to game-changing technologies.

We encourage you to share the invitation below with faculty and students who may be interested to participate in NRC’s outreach initiative, focusing on Cities of the Future. The call for input will close on January 25, 2016.

You will find additional details on this initiative and the current call for expert input, as well as the contact information for Dr. Carl Caron, who leads this initiative at NRC, in the correspondence below.

Thank you for disseminating this at your earliest convenience to social sciences and humanities scholars and students in your institution or networks, and engaging them on these socio-technological challenges.
