Marie Sklowdowska‑Curie Individual Fellowships

Posted by Alana Milner on May 26, 2015 in Research Funding

The European Commission's Horizon 2020 program has launched its 2015 calls for Individual Fellowships under its Marie Sklowdowska-Curie Actions. Two calls may be of particular interest to Dalhousie faculty members:

  1. Marie Sklowdowska-Curie Global Fellowships enable early-career European researchers to have the opportunity to be trained and acquire new knowledge in a university or other research institution outside the EU.  Fellows are generously funded for two years of research and training in an institution outside the EU, and would return to their home institutions in Europe for a final one-year reintegration phase. Funding includes a contribution to research expenses and overhead/indirect costs at the hosting institution.

  2. Marie Sklowdowska-Curie European Fellowships aim to attract experienced researchers from outside the EU to work and undertake research at a European institution for 1-2 yrs, with a view to developing mutually-beneficial research cooperation. The research project should be of strong interest for the European Research Area and help create long-term collaborations and mutually beneficial cooperation between Europe and the fellow's home country. Funding is provided for the researcher’s maintenance, plus research costs and overhead for the host organization.

The Global Fellowships provide an excellent opportunity for Dalhousie faculty members to bring European postdoctoral scholars to Dalhousie, to work under their supervision for two years; several Fellows have been successfully hosted by Dalhousie in recent years. The European Fellowships provide an opportunity for experienced Dalhousie researchers to undertake long-term fellowships in European institutions.

The call for both of the above fellowships is available on the European Commission's website

Any Dalhousie faculty member interested in these fellowships is asked to contact Jennifer Morawiecki in IR&D, for more information.

Deadline: September 10, 2015 at noon
