Key Services and Information

New Employee Orientation

Dalhousie holds voluntary New Employee orientation sessions monthly, except in December. All new employees are encouraged to attend.

  • The session provides an opportunity to become more familiar with Dalhousie as well as to meet other employees, new and experienced.
  • You will be provided information on the numerous opportunities and services available to you as a member of the Dalhousie community.
  • Register through the Employee Learning Calendar

Academic Staff Orientation

For new Faculty and those supporting teaching, the Centre for Learning and Teaching (CLT) hosts a mandatory New Academic Staff Orientation program which includes 2 days of in-person orientation in August, or single days for those joining Dal during the academic year.

The Orientation provides a comprehensive introduction to the resources, services and people you will need to make a strong start in your academic role.

Contact clt@dal.ca with any questions.

Note: it is recommended that new faculty attend New Employee Orientation in addition to the required New Academic Staff Orientation as the sessions cover different content.
