Winter 2016 Student News

Greetings from Guyana,
While the Class of 2016 has settled back into the classroom for another busy term, the Class of 2017 has spread across the Atlantic Provinces (and some to warmer climates) for their third clinical placement. But rest assured, everybody will be reunited in just a few short weeks to study and make up for lost time. But before diving into what is coming, lets recap on the events from the fall!
Can we say four-peat? Yes, yes we can! For the fourth year in a row the School of Physiotherapy has been crowned the FTHOI champions. Through numerous fundraising efforts we raised over $15000 for Katrin’s Karepackage. Events included the annual ‘Pie-Your-Prof’, a hockey pool, and many bake sales. A huge shout-out to all the students, staff, and faculty who participated and made the four-peat possible this year. Special mention to Breagh MacInnis and Jacey Kelly, the FTHOI steering committee, who did a phenomenal job putting together the skit. HAKUNA MATATA!
Once again, our men of ‘Mo’vember did not disappoint. Our hallways might have smelled of ‘Just for Men’ nearing the end of November, but our mustache-bearing men were able to raise just shy of $1500 for the cause. Hats off to you boys! As the mustaches were shed, both classes enjoyed a lovely potluck prepared by the class of 2016 to end the fall term and kick off the holidays.
So what's in store for the winter term? The coveted PT Ball of course! A night of good food and good company (as well as lots of dancing) is awaiting us. Additionally, our intramural teams will keep having fun and battling for top honours.
