As the school year came to an end in April, the first and second year Dalhousie physiotherapy students began to prepare themselves for summer clinical placements. Although it was a new experience for the first years, the second year students were more familiar with the process at this point, and clinical placements spanned across the world – from the Maritimes to western Canada and even to Scotland.

The 2012-2013 student society (DPTSS), which consisted of President Katie Soper, Vice-President Cameron DuPlessis, Secretary Jeannine Phillips and Treasurer Danielle Bonnenfant, were happy to pass down the torch to the new members of the 2013-2014 society – President Sandra Ibrahim, Vice-President Heather Isenor, Secretary Camille Cramm and Treasurer Erica Middleton.

Although it was a busy time for all, the second-year students still had to find the time to study for their Physiotherapy National Exam (PNE), which was written on July 13. As the class of 2013 prepares for graduation and sad goodbyes in October, the school of physiotherapy is excited to provide their welcomes and hellos to the new class of 2015.

As September was quickly approaching, the student society was busy planning a fun-filled orientation week for the new students, with such events as “meet & greet”, pizza parties, potlucks, a scavenger hunt, an OT/PT sports day and even an overnight rafting trip. The Dal Physio faculty and students are truly looking forward to another exciting year ahead!
