Caitlin-mcarthur

Dr. Caitlin McArthur recently received the 2025 Live More Distinction Award from Northwood Care. The honour recognizes her teams research that focuses on preventing falls, fractures and functional decline in home and long-term care - a "significant contribution to the knowledge we have today that will influence what we do tomorrow." Scott-kehler-award

Dr. Scott Kehler has been awarded the Early Career Research Excellence Award which recognizes outstanding research achievements by faculty members within the Faculty of Health who are in their first seven years of appointment at Dalhousie. Dr. Kehler' research studies the impact of cardiac rehabilitation and preoperative rehabilitation on frailty and the relationship of physical activity and sedentary behaviours with fraility. Research team summer highlights

Mitacs Globalink students,  Jack and Aitana were welcomed to the ReBEL research group this summer. The group kicked off the welcome by cheering the Halifax Tides, a professional women's soccer team, to their first win of the season! (Mitacs Globalink supports research collaborations between Canada and select partner organizations and eligible countries and regions.)

MScRR student, Dru Pierson (supervisor Dr Quigley) presents YOGA Fit: Protocol for a crossover trial investigating the feasibility and impact of virtual versus in-person yoga for chronic stroke survivors at the CanStroke Scientific Meeting in Montreal mid-summer.

School Assistant Professor, Dr. Ellen McGarity-Shipley presented Developing a regional primary care focused trauma-informed care education strategy through primary healthcare collaboration: Initial findings at the 25th International Conference on integrated Care (ICIC25) in Lisbon, Portugal. School of Physiotherapy Director, Dr Derek Rutherford along with PhD in Health Candidate, Sarah Remedios and MScRR graduate, Ewan Galloway had the pleasure of presenting at the International Society of Biomechanics 2025 in Stockholm Sweden at the end of July.

Research faculty and students work hard, but they also work toward finding work-life balance. If we can't find time in our schedule for an ice cream cone, than why do we even have a summer?
