Fall 2018 Research Update
A group of 30 University students from United Arab Emirates in the Forrest Building's Laboratory of Brain Recovery and Function
This summer, The School of Physiotherapy was pleased to act as tour host to a group of 30 science, management and engineering students from Dubai. The students were impressed with the capabilities of the Joint Action Research (JAR) Laboratory & the Laboratory of Brian Function and Recovery. The program, developed by The College of Continuing Education (CCE) in collaboration with the Faculty of Management and the Centre for Executive and Graduate Education, focuses on leadership, innovation and entrepreneurship. The students were sponsored by the Ministry of Education in the United Arab Emirates.
Collaboration
Dalhousie, OsloMet Collaboration
A delegation of researchers from OsloMet University, Norway, visited professors and department heads from Dalhousie Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy, to meet and tour various research laboratories. Building on a collaboration that already exist between OsloMet and Dalhousie Radiography Department, the intent of the meeting was to explore the possibilities of extending the Dalhousie/OsloMet relationship to include other health sciences, in particular OT and PT. Aging, Global Health, Health/Welfare Technology within these fields are areas of particular interest. Student (all levels) and faculty exchanges, research collaboration and other collaborative activities are all topics that were discussed.
