Fall 2017 Research Update
Your Physiotherapy Research team has had a very busy summer. Conferences, publications, a number of graduate students completing their MSc Rehabilitation Research degree and not to mention Research Day for our MSc PT students has cultivated a strong sense of research accomplishment in the school.
We would like to welcome Erin Barry, Brittany Roberts and Tanya Chopra, to our MSc Rehabilitation Research Program. Studying under Dr. Rutherford, Mr. Jim Schrijvers, a PhD student from the VU Medical Center in Amsterdam, the Netherlands is visiting this fall for a 7-week internship as the Joint Action Research Laboratory and VU Medical Center look for possibilities of collaborative research in the area of knee osteoarthritis mechanics. This was made possible by a successful Collaborative Scholarship application to the Osteoarthritis Research Society International.
Finally, the School of Physiotherapy is very happy to announce that renovations will begin in earnest to remodel the Laboratory for Brain Recovery and Function. These renovations will provide Dr. Shaun Boe, his research team and collaborators, with a state-of-art research facility to expand capacity and advance neurological research in School of Physiotherapy for the future. For more information on these research accomplishments and more, please read on.
