Summer 2024 Director's Message
"Community is the heart of many things we do, yet it can be difficult to define as it can mean something different for all of us.
Director, Derek Rutherford
I hope this newsletter finds everyone well, enjoying summer and finding some time to be with friends and family, exploring beautiful Atlantic Canada or wherever this newsletter finds you. This summer edition newsletter is full of exciting developments, stories and congratulations from our students, staff and faculty in your School of Physiotherapy.
Community is the heart of many things we do, yet it can be difficult to define as it can mean something different for all of us. Is it the community in which we live, we work, we learn, we socialize, or we strive to be a part of? Community is important for our profession and indeed the School of Physiotherapy. We view our school is a component of the professional community as we work together making physiotherapy and rehabilitation science great and impactful for the many people we serve and work with. We are continually growing and evolving, and this newsletter provides you with some of the highlights captured over the past four months that capture our community.
The vision of the School of Physiotherapy is to lead regionally, nationally and internationally in collaborative, inclusive physiotherapy education, research, and service that advance health, policy, and practice. Initiatives are growing towards creating a community to support our profession and the future of physiotherapy in Atlantic Canada. Congratulations to our students, our staff, faculty and practice communities who have strived to make a difference, putting physiotherapy and rehabilitation sciences forward for the health of Canadians and beyond.
I wish everyone well, hope you enjoy our newsletter and as always, please keep in touch.
