Spring 2025 Director's Message

Working together to build a leading, relevant health care profession

Derek-Rutherford

Together, we strive for Equity in Health and believe in a tomorrow in which physiotherapy remains vibrant, relevant, and a leading profession in managing the health care needs of all Canadians.~Director, Dr. Derek Rutherford

Spring is here! It's time to get outside, get moving and plan for continued greatness in 2025. As the days get longer, it seems like time is passing faster. The winter term has flown by, but not without many successes and triumphs. Thanks to the students, School faculty and staff, and partners for a wonderful start to 2025.

It is fitting that May is National Physiotherapy Month in Canada. We all work together, move forward, bring quality to many and instill the joy that mobility can bring at this time of the year.  We focus on bringing worlds together and connecting to support the growth of physiotherapy in Atlantic Canada. Our vision is to lead regionally, nationally and internationally in collaborative, inclusive physiotherapy education, research, and service that advances health, policy, and practice.  The School is committed to developing the future of Physiotherapy in Atlantic Canada. A future where we see a diverse workforce to meet the demands of our changing population demographics and needs in health care. A future where we can support our students, the future of this profession, to experience the very best of Atlantic Canada through practice education. Together, we strive for Equity in Health, and belief in tomorrow which physiotherapy remains vibrant, relevant and a leading profession in managing the healthcare needs of all Canadians.

Please take time to read through the newsletter and uncover many of the wonderful events, items and occurrences that have come to fruition over the past few months. Looking forward to our continued connection.
