Festive 2025 Director's Message
Ripples of shared impact
An extraordinary year!
I would like to start by extending my sincere gratitude to our alumni, clinical partners, students, staff and faculty for the continued contributions and support of physiotherapy and our school. It is thought that the reflection on a rippling pond reveals the many angles from which we may see ourselves, our surroundings and our place in the environment. The School of Physiotherapy has a place in Atlantic Canada and as we reflect on the past year, there were indeed ripples, yet we have remained steadfast in our mission to educate future physiotherapists and scholars who excel; inspire through research and discovery that advances knowledge and practice; and improve the health and wellness of the diverse communities we serve, through collaboration and innovation.
Reality is fluid; it changes based on conditions, time and viewpoints. Let us celebrate our interconnectedness, the fluidity of the environments we work and study in and grow together as we steward the future of physiotherapy in Atlantic Canada. Indeed, challenges will be upon us, and we will rise to these with the utmost energy and enthusiasm to ensure our role in the health of our society remains strong.
On behalf of the School of Physiotherapy, thank you for your support. We really hope you enjoy reading our newsletter, and we wish you all a very festive season of friendship and love.
Kind regards,
Dr. Derek Rutherford
Director
