Spring 2025 Community News
In April, the School of Physiotherapy hosted another event for high school students in the PLANS (Promoting Leadership in health for African Nova Scotians) co-op program. PLANS is dedicated to increasing representation of African Nova Scotians in health professions through recruitment and retention, community collaborations and partnerships to improve health outcomes within the African Nova Scotian community.
This event provided us the opportunity to introduce the students to physiotherapy as a potential career option for high school students in Nova Scotia. We were fortunate to have current students and alumni help lead activities and talk with the students about diverse career options in physiotherapy, and why they chose physiotherapy as their profession. We appreciate working with PLANS and look forward to more opportunities to engage with their students.
