Dr. Katherine Harman was selected as the 2013 recipient of the Para Coach of the Year Award at Rowing Canada's Aviron's AGM.
The School of Physiotherapy recognizes Dr. Katherine Harman, Associate Professor and Graduate Coordinator, on receiving the 2013 Para Coach of the Year at Rowing Canada Aviron's Annual General Meeting in London, Ontario on January 26, 2014.
The conference identified athletes and coaches who were nominated based on their involvement during the 2013 season. Dr. Harman was selected as the recipient of the Para Coach Award amongst coaches from over 15 clubs across Canada.
"I'm very proud to get national recognition, it's pretty amazing. The other piece is that it draws me in because it isn't a lot of work. It's easy in a sense, all areas of my life come together; teaching, fundraising and coaching," expressed Dr. Harman.
Outside the walls of Dalhousie, Dr. Harman is an accomplished competitive rower, a para rowing coach with the Halifax Rowing Club and Para-rowing Coordinator for Row NS. This fall, Dr. Harman was also selected for the honourable Paul Harris Award from the Halifax Rotary Club.
