Every year, departments across Dalhousie rely on alumni and friends who believe in what Dalhousie students and professors can contribute to communities, both locally and around the globe.
Annual giving has an immediate and meaningful impact on students and enables the Faculty of Health Professions and the School of Health and Human Performance to succeed in their goals - providing unrivalled academic excellence and motivating students to move forward with confidence, knowledge, and strength.
A gift to the Faculty of Health Professions is a committment to its area of greatest need. If you wish, you can specify that your gift be allocated to the needs of the School of Health and Human Performance. Selected priorities in the Faculty of Health Professions
- Inter-professional health care education facility: such a facility would offer a more structured and integrated approach to inter-professional health education and research, providing space for collaboration, teaching and research among the Faculties of Medicine, Health Professions and Dentistry.
- Rural communities program: Distributed learning gives both urban and rural students in the Maritimes improved access, more choice and flexibility to learn outside the classroom. Enhancing the distributed curriculum will require an investment in faculty and course development, as well as equipment and infrastructure.
- Chair Health Informatics: Collaborations with medical practitioners, health professionals, and industry partners have led to new approaches for clinical care plans and clinical decision support systems. This Faculty of Computer Science Chair will work to enhance our reputation and bring high-profile visibility to Health Informatics at Dalhousie within the context of inter-professional health delivery and education.
