Funding Opportunities

How will you fund your program?

Funding and Awards for Graduate Students:

As Atlantic Canada's top research university, Dalhousie Engineering offers our graduate students competitive funding while they pursue their studies here. Our students have many funding opportunities available to them including; graduate research and teaching assistantships, departmental and faculty awards, university scholarships and bursaries, external scholarships and provincial student loans.  Our recommended funding levels are: $17, 500 for M.A.Sc. students and $21,000for Ph.D. students.  Highly qualified students, such as those holding NSERC graduate scholarships, may receive additional funding.

Some funding is awarded upon admission into a program; some is based on recommendations from your program, and others you must apply for either to the Faculty of Graduate Studies or to an external funding agency.  Students are encouraged to explore all funding options they may be eligible for.
