Aquaaculture Technician
Woods Harbour, NS

Type: Full time, salary (40-45 hours/week)

Rate: $15 hour
Duties & Responsibilities:

Assist in fish production related duties including the following

·        Salt water quality monitoring as it pertains to fish health

·        Feeding fish, preparing food for fish

·        Cleaning tanks

·        Assist in the spawning of halibut

·        Assist in feeding lumpfish and cunner juveniles

·        Assist in general husbandry and daily care duties of lumpfish and cunner juveniles

·        Minor equipment and building maintenance

·        Other fish or water system related duties

·        Other duties related to the operation of a fish production facility

There is no minimum education required for this position.  Applicants with aquaculture experience and/or education will be given preference. Successful applicants must be physically fit, have a passion for animal care, and ability to work long hours in adverse weather conditions.

ProNova Marine Products looks for employees that are self-motivated, well organized and have a positive attitude. Computer literacy is an asset.  SCUBA certification is an asset.  Person must live or be willing to move to within 30 minutes of the facility.
