Under the supervision of Dr. Jim Duston, three undergrad Aquaculture students and two Master students attended the Science Atlantic Conference for Fisheries & Aquaculture and Biology at St. Francis Xavier University March 10th-12th, 2017. Each student presented an oral presentation on their research project. The AC was well-represented at the conference especially with the high quality of the presentations of students.

Ryland Murphy (undergrad): Use of chloroform-methanol Irish moss (Chondrus crispus) extract for Saprolegnia control in salmonid aquaculture

Shanwei Qi (undergrad): Effect of body size and energy reserves on overwinter mortality of underyearling striped bass (Morone saxatilis)

Kamryn Findlay (Masters): The trophodynamics of early life stages of striped bass (Morone saxatilis) in the Shubenacadie River Estuary

Hayden Breau (Masters): Toxicity of a hypersaline solution on early life sages of striped bass (Morone saxatilis)
