Welcome Visiting Scholar

Please join the Department of Business and Social Sciences in extending a warm welcome to visiting scientist, Dr. Wenguang Zhang, Dean and Professor at the School of Government, Beijing Normal University (BNU), China.

Dr. Zhang is a distinguished researcher in the field of public policy on international investment and low carbon economies. He arrived in Truro in November 2015 as a visiting scholar collaborating with Dr. Ji Lu on a research study entitled: “Business Practices and Public Policies Reconciling Materialism and Natural/Ethical Values: A Case Study of Canadian Food System.” The research project is supported by the Canada-China scholars’ Exchange Program.

In addition to the research collaboration, Dr. Zhang will explore broader academic collaborations between BNU and Dalhousie University. The School of Government in BNU is among the top 10 public administration research and education institutes in China.

With a portfolio of expertise in Management Science, Economics, Political Science and Information system, the School of Government is looking forward to building a long-term partnership with Faculty of Agriculture, to tackle the challenges in the fields of ecosystem management, sustainable development and societal/policy issues related to the agricultural community.

Dr. Zhang is based in Cox Room 259 and will be happy to chat about opportunities at BNU.
