Memberships

The new athletic and membership year has started.   For staff interested in joining the Langille Athletic Centre talk with Ashley Simms (ashley.simms@dal.ca  893-6660) .

The Langille Athletic Centre has something for everyone! Along with our lower level weight room equipment, we are also equipped with bikes, stair climbers, ellipticals, treadmills and rowers in the cardio room. The double gymnasium, racquetball and squash courts are available for members and group rental . We offer a variety of memberships for the community including great discounts for students and 55+. Check with Ashley for length of membership (lots of options from full year to monthly and term ) and rates.

Fitness

We also offer group fitness classes, combining the latest strength training & cardio techniques with tried and true favorites to melt body fat, improve performance and create a lean, healthy body. Fitness classes  (first session) have just started and the first session ( Sept 8 – Oct 3 ) is  $  66.00 for three noon hour sessions per week.  Each session varies from 4-6 weeks and the rate per session reflects the number of weeks. We also provide the opportunity to drop-in at $10 per class.  

Varsity Results

Soccer

The soccer teams started the year with exhibition play.  Both teams travelled to Halifax for matches against SMU (women) and a Sr B Club Team (men).  Both games were very competitive and a great way to ease into play.  Dal Tigers travelled to DAL AC on Wednesday of last week for “friendlys”  .  Each team were still reducing their rosters, so the competition was a great way for the campuses to refine team lists and to know the programs on each campus better.
