On Thursday, May 22, Dean Gray, the Faculty of Agriculture's research office and several of our researchers with an interest and expertise in potatoe production, met with representatives of the PEI Potato Marketing Board to discuss research opportunities along with the research needs of the potato industry in Prince Edward Island.
Several important research initiatives were identified and the Faculty of Agriculture will work collaboratively with the industry to address these issues and find funding for future research projects.
The potato sector in PEI faces a number of significant technical challenges related to new pests and diseases and this will be the focus of future research partnerships.
