Tractor Safety course will be May 14 and 15, 2014. DAL AC Farm Complex - Ruminant Animal Centre.
May 14 - combination of theory and practical exercises (evaluation of tractor safety and driving skills)
May 15 - written test at 8:30 am and driving test to be scheduled throughout the morning.
This is an opportunity for all students to get some knowledge of tractor safety and operation. All students will complete the theory and practical exercises on Wednesday and complete the written test on Thursday.
For students with little or no experience with tractor operation - this will provide some basic knowledge and they will hopefully have an opportunity get some experience (under supervision) over the summer work term. These students will not be required to complete the driving test on Thursday.
Students who have previous experience and are expected to operate tractors and equipment independently/unsupervised as part of their summer employment will have to complete and pass both the written and driving test.
