Applied Intelligent Engineering Systems Research Group (AIES)

In my research group we aim to develop engineering systems that maintain sustainable agricultural operations and contribute to obtaining high quality crop production; focusing on field application-driven research while adopting state-of-the-art technology in the engineering systems.

The main systems I am currently working on are; ① Autonomous machinery field operating systems, ②Advanced field monitoring systems, ③ Intelligent farm-facility-user communication systems, to which I try to integrate technologies such as sensing (object detection, environment monitoring, etc.), digital connectivity (Sensor networking, IoT), communication systems (ISO-bus, UART, I2C, etc)

Ongoing projects:

  1. Intelligent spraying systems using machine vision and ISO-bus
  2. Indoor farm monitoring and control system using Microcontrollers and IoT
  3. Nutrient deficiency detection sensor using image processing and big data analytics
