Dania Shikara

I am currently completing my Bachelor of Science in Medical Sciences at Dalhousie University. I had the pleasure of volunteering over the summer of 2019 to gain a better understanding of the various research projects underway in the lab.

Currently, I am working part-time at the Eskes lab to help organize data from multiple research projects for the use of software analysis later on. Working at the lab has opened my eyes to the shockingly small number of standard interventions currently in the medical field that test an individual’s attention, working memory and other cognitive functions.

In general, my main interests are in understanding the various clinical procedures that can be developed as a part of the recovery process of a patient. The  development of such tests requires the accurate measurement and standardization of the effects of certain conditions and aging on an individual’s cognitive processes.
