Research Nova Scotia (RNS) is announcing the launch of their Focused Research Investments (FRI) program, which will tackle the salient issues of our time using a mission-oriented approach while providing the funding and resources required to meet specific societal outcomes.
Through FRI, Research Nova Scotia will select 2 or 3 teams to receive $5 to $20 million over 5 to 7 years to support:
- Highly focused, collaborative, and determined research across disciplines, to work on the salient Nova Scotia issues of our time, producing discoveries that will solve some of society’s most pressing problems.
- Researchers who are driven to be civic actors and participants, devoting their expertise in service of their communities, improving public policy, and/or creating economic opportunity.
As part of this initiative, RNS is hosting an online information session on March 7 at 10:00 AM AST.
Stefan Leslie, CEO of RNS, will provide an overview of the initiative and answer questions from the research community. This will include the Expression of Interest process.
