Tri‑agency Institutional Programs Secretariat

Posted by Jaq-Lin Larder on September 12, 2022 in Announcements

The Tri-agency Institutional Programs Secretariat (TIPS), housed within the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, administers a suite of institutional research programs on behalf of Canada’s three research funding agencies that are all geared toward a common goal – to advance Canadian research excellence.

To deliver important news and information and engage with the research community and other key stakeholders on the full scope of these programs (namely, Canada Research Chairs, Canada Excellence Research Chairs, Canada 150 Canada Research Chairs, Canada First Research Excellence Fund, Canada Biomedical Research Fund and Research Support Fund), new TIPS Twitter and LinkedIn accounts have been launched.

You can follow TIPS on Twitter (English @TIPS_SPIIE  and French @SPIIE_TIPS) and on LinkedIn (bilingual account at @TIPS-SPIIE).

The new English TIPS Twitter account replaces the former bilingual Canada Research Chairs (@CRC_CRC) account and followers of that account have automatically migrated. Followers who prefer French content must elect to follow @SPIIE_TIPS. Also, the Canada Excellence Research Chairs (@CERC_CERC), and the Canada First Research Excellence Fund (@CFREF_APOGEE) Twitter handles are no longer active and relevant new content on these and other TIPS programs will be incorporated into the new TIPS accounts.

Note that these new accounts are focused on institutional programs and as such, the New Frontiers in Research Fund (NFRF), although a program administered by TIPS, will continue to post from CIHR, NSERC and SSHRC social media, with echoes from other Canada Research Coordinating Committee member accounts.

Do not hesitate to contact communications@chairs-chaires.gc.ca if you have any questions or comments about these new social media accounts.
