Tri‑Agency Grants Management Solution (TGMS) initiative

Posted by Jaq-Lin Larder on January 13, 2020 in Events

Location for both days (Feb 12 and 13)
Room 302, 3rd Floor, Student Union Building (SUB), 6136 University Avenue, Halifax NS, B3H 4R2

The three Canadian granting agencies, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council and Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, are collaborating on a Tri-Agency initiative to improve the grants management systems, with an aim to better support the needs of the Canadian research community. As a part of this initiative, TGMS is engaging early in this initiative through targeted and meaningful activities to better understand the research community needs, by developing CX Journey maps.

Over the past several months, through interviews and workshops, journey maps have been developed to represent the research community's primary users in the roles of applicants, reviewers, and research administrators. Journey maps are a visualization of the process that a user goes through in order to accomplish a goal and depicts their common tasks, pain points and needs. The objective of the journey mapping validation session workshop is to enhance and deepen the content of the journey maps by engaging a larger group of users. The insights learned from these engagements in terms of the needs and wants of our users will help inform the design of the user experience in a new solution.

As part of this process, representatives from the Tri-Agencies will be visiting Dalhousie on February 12th and 13th in order to engage with users (Applicants, Peer Reviewers, and Research Administrators) of their systems in a number of workshops. Please see below for the times for each of these sessions:
