Funding, News and Announcements

The Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) invites professional and academic staff of ACU member institutions to apply for the 2019 round of ACU Fellowships. As Dalhousie University is an ACU member institution, its personnel are eligible to apply.

The fellowships provide funding of up to GBP 5,000 to enable a member of faculty or staff from one ACU member university to travel to a member institution in another country, for a collaborative research or fact-finding visit of up to six months.

Before applying, interested individuals will need to identify and make contact with a potential collaborator at the host institution and submit a plan for their visit.

A variety of fellowships are available:

• Accountancy Fellowship (Worshipful Company of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales)
• Agriculture, Forestry & Food Science Fellowship (George Weston Limited)
• Canada Fellowship – outward (Gordon and Jean Southam)
• Canada Fellowship – inward
• Coventry University Fellowship
• Engineering (Wighton) Fellowship
• Hong Kong Jockey Club Fellowship – inward
• Hong Kong Jockey Club Fellowship – outward
• Information Technology Fellowship (Jacky McAleer Memorial)
• Martha Farrell Memorial Fellowship – awarded to provide training and support for fellows to initiate an anti-sexual harassment initiative at their home university. Two fellowships are available. 
• Peace and Reconciliation Fellowships – two fellowships are available. 
• Swansea University Fulton Fellowship
• University of Oxford Fellowship

Fellowships which are not tied to a specific subject area are tenable in any of the following fields: education, health and related social sciences, information technology and management, STEM subjects, sustainable development, and university development and management.
