Habitat Stewardship Program for Aquatic Species at Risk

Posted by Danielle Andres on November 19, 2018 in Research Funding

The 2019-20 Call for proposals for the Habitat Stewardship Program (HSP) for Aquatic Species at Risk is now open.

The HSP for Aquatic Species at Risk is committed to supporting Canadians in their efforts to help protect and recover aquatic species at risk; it is intended to not only remove human threats to the habitats of aquatic species at risk but also to support their recovery and protect them in the future, so that the benefits of these efforts will be sustained for generations to come.

For more information about the program and to obtain the 2019-20 application guidelines, please visit Fisheries and Oceans Canada’s Habitat Stewardship Program website.

While not mandatory, Expressions of Interest are strongly encouraged. The deadline for submission of an Expressions of Interest is December 4, 2018.

Funding applications are due January 8, 2019. For the coming fiscal year, Fisheries and Oceans Canada is taking on all administrative aspects of HSP for aquatic species at risk projects; therefore, the ‘on-line application and tracking system’ formerly used to submit and process applications will no longer be available for aquatic projects. The Application Form for HSP for Aquatic Species at Risk can be downloaded from the Program website. Please ensure you refer to the HSP Application Instructions and the Program Guide in completing an application.

Deadlines:
EOI - December 4, 2018 (not mandatory)
Application - January 8, 2019
